Q: When registering InterAx, what types of licenses are available?
A: There are two types of licenses: Personal and Site. Personal licenses are meant for private use only. Site licenses are for large businesses or scholastic institutions.
Q: What does each license allow?
A: With either license, you may create and commercially release for profit (if desired) as many games as you wish. Also with either license, upgrades to future versions are FREE.
With a personal license, you may run the registered version of InterAx on more than one computer (within reason), so long as they are in a residential setting, and owned by the same person or family.
With the site license, you may run the registered version of InterAx on as many computers as needed, so long as they are all part of the same organization, and at the same location (you would not be licensed to run it on your home computer without purchasing a Personal License). This is ideal for large businesses or schools that wish to use InterAx as a teaching tool on many computers at once.
Q: Which license type is recommended?
A: The “personal license” is recommended for everybody except for those in large businesses, or school teachers.
Q: Why do we have to bother with these licenses, anyway? Why isn’t InterAx free?
A: I feel that the cost to register InterAx is very reasonable, and believe me, I’m not getting rich off of it. However, it costs money to run this website, and I devote a lot of my free time working on and supporting InterAx. Without any compensation at all, honestly, what would be the point? I’ve got a life too! It is also important to realize that all future versions of InterAx (even major version numbers) will be FREE to registered users. No major software company offers anything like that, and very few "little guys" do either. This is my way of ensuring that those who register InterAx will always be able to have the latest registered version without having to buy it again. With most software, you end up buying an all new version every year or two. With my registration policy, you will never have to pay for an upgrade. By utilizing unlock codes (‘keys’), it helps to control piracy, which is an unfortunate problem for anyone who writes computer software.
